Banana Spinach Smoothie // Bananen-Spinat-Smoothie

Iss deine Bananen reif

Was du benötigst

  • 1 handvoll frischen Spinat
  • 1 Tasse Wasser
  • 2 Bananen mit braunen Punkten

Was du tun musst

Now that I’m pregnant, it’s really important for me to get my fair intake of iron. I try and stay away from food supplements as much as possible and rather get all the iron in by eating fresh veggies, nuts and seeds. That’s super easy with this smoothie. I drink it on a regular basis, mostly for breakfast, even when I wasn’t pregnant. It’s just so simple to make and tastes – despite of it’s color – like a banana milkshake.

Have your bananas ripe

To use spotty bananas is very important in this recipe – and over all. Otherwise your smoothie won’t be as sweet. Also when your banana isn’t ripe yet – so with now browns spots – the starch hasn’t turned into fruit sugar. That means, it is harder on your digestif system aka you might get bloated.

Banana Spinach Smoothie

Serving: 1 snack size (As a whole meal, I’d use 4-6 bananas)

What you’ll need

  • 1 handful fresh spinach
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 spotty bananas

What you wanna do

  1. In your blender, blend all the ingredients until nice and smooth.

Tip: If you don’t have fresh spinach on hand, or any other fresh, green leaves for that matter, you could also use spinach powder.
