If it doesn’t feel right, well just don’t do it…

All black + mirrored Aviators All black + mirrored Aviators

Does the following sound familiar?

It takes hours or maybe even days for you to decide on a certain thing.

It may be a decision for your futur, a choice between two different things or you might like to cancel on something you’ve already commited to. But something always holds you back or comes in your way. Maybe your not so sure about your decision anymore. Maybe it doesn’t feel right anymore.

Sometimes things just have to be done, even if we don’t want to, we just have to straighten up and do them. But overall, just listen to your gut. If it doesn’t scream “Oh, yes!” than it’s a definite “No!”.

This voice is mostly the first thing that comes to mind, when you ask yourself the question “Do I want this really?”

Just spare yourself some time with the next decision that comes up and listen to your gut ;-)

And other than that, you can always back away from something you already commited to, by being very honest about the reason. People will understand and will even be thankful for your honesty. If not? Well, than that’s their decision how they handel it.

Since I heard Marie Forleo talk about this concept some time ago, it really helped me make my decisions much faster ;-)

What on earth could you do with chinese cabbage – also known as Pak Choi, Japanese cabbage or Beijing cabbage – other than cooking it? Yeah, that’s what I thought about also. A while ago my mom made a salad out of it, ok that’s what I remember…but which dressing to make for it? Some days ago a colleague brought a kale salad to work with an amazing dressing, that’s what I recreated and it really complements the chinese cabbage. The sweet and tangy taste of the apple cider vinegar and the crispy salad really work together. Theoretically you could add fruites like mangos, apples or peaches but if you leave it plain it’s just fine.
As I made such a huge amount that it lasted me 3 nights, I had it three diferent ways. My favorite was with potatoes ;-)
You wouldn’t think chinese cabbage has a lot of healthy ingredients, because it has almost no color, but it’s super rich in Vitamin C (456 mg per 100 g/3.5 oz Salad). Other than that it has even more awesome nutrients, like Vitamine D and other minerals like iron, calium and magnesium.

Recipe (yields a large bowl)

What you’ll need

  • 1 small/medium sized chinese cabbage
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1/4 cup apple cidar vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. dried cilantro (if you have use fresh one)
  • 1 Tbsp. dried Dill (if you have use fresh one)

What you wanna do

  1. Chop up the cabbage and place in a large serving bowl
  2. In your blender, blend all other ingredients very well
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage
  4. Let sit in fridge for at least an hour before serving

Tipp: Add some nuts/seeds on top like sunflower seeds, You could also add sun dreid tomatos for extra flavor

Inspirational Friday: Elderflower Tea (Homemade Detox Tea)

Elderflower tea - Homemade detox tea | Holunderblütentee - selbstgemachter detox tee

Elderflower tea - Homemade detox tea | Holunderblütentee - selbstgemachter detox tee

Right now they bloom in their beauty everywhere. Elderflowers. And this smell, when you pass them on a walk…incredible. It even gets better, if you make a tea out of them it’s good for our body and even tastes good. I mean, could it get any better?
Elderflower tea boostes your immune system – so perfect if you get a cold – because it washes the toxins out of your body. So you can pretty much make your own detox tea for free, whithout having to pay for the detox hype ;-)
Just collect yourself a nice bouquet of elderflowers (Beware, the yellow pollen will stick to your clothes, but they come out quickly with the next wash) and place them individually next to each other on a lined windowsill. They’ll be dried in just a couple of days. With a pair of scissors, chop of the flower parts from the stem. You can keep the tea in a glas jar or any other air-tight container, just as you’d keep your other teas.
For your tea, just brew 1-2 teaspoons with boiling water, for 3-5 minutes. Because of it’s natural sweetness, there is no need for sweetening the tea.

So enjoy, and just another tipp: soon the flowers will turn into berries, so get out quickly and pick ’em up.
