Cooking what’s in Season

image032_1 image003 image018 image024 image028

Was man benötigt?
– Spitzkohl
– Rote Linsen
– Gewürze: Ingwer, Koriander, Paprika
– Salz

Cooking in season, it’s cheaper, healthier, and eco-friendly (saves transportation). So why not getting out “Granny’s Recipes” like kale with lentils?

Kale is the queen of greens and THE powerhouse. Why? Low in calories, zero fat, lots of anioxidants, more iron than beef, anti-inflammatroy and full of vitamin A, C and K… Should I say more?

The lentils top the whole thing with protein and iron as well.  Good for our muscles oh and even Anti-Aging. This is news to me too.

What you’ll need?
– Pointed Kale
– Red Lentils
– Herbs: Ginger, Coriander, Red Bellpepper
– Salt

Note: I leave out the exact measurements on purpose, because the soup tastes best made for your own like.

How to …?
– Cut up the kale in to bite sized pieces and steam it, ’till the leaves are soft, approx. 20 min.
– Add as much or less water as you like to the steamed kale and add all other ingredients and bring to boil.
– Turn of the heat when the lentils are soft – they will turn yeallow – and add spices as you like.

Tip: Use a “cute” pot as I am..the soup will taste sooo much better ;-)
